Can you read this and tell me what you think? I'm not done it but it's just a start to a novl Im writting.?
I gobbled down my cookie before i dashed into my voice lesson, late. My throat felt scratchy and thick after I ate, but I couldn’t help it. I was starving! My voice teacher knew right away though.
"Eating again, I see." Allison said.
"sorry, I couldn’t help it." I said guilty.
"You know how bad that is for your throat. Plus it makes your lesson useless, not to mention the money that your parents waste."
"Wow, you can’t tell me about my parents wasting their money, that’s not your buisness. Why do I even need voice lessons anyway, I’ve already learned everything crucial to singing."
"Don’t say that Clare, there is almost always something new to learn. You can’t give it up. We always have so much fun together anyways."
"No, you have fun. I have to watch my diet, arrive always early, and give up all my after school activities just to see you. Oh, so I don’t ‘waste my parents money’".
"Clare, you are a very talented young lady, and I would like to see you excel in your singing. That’s why I expect so much out of you. If you had no talent I would go easy on you."
"I love singing. But, I’m 17 years old and I still want to have a normal life every now and then! I’m not giving singing up, but you are wasting my time as a singer!"
I screamed back at beloved Allison as I stomped out the door. PMS had taken over, I guess. Allison has been a friend of the family for many years. She’s so close to us, she often comes to our family get togethers, like Christmas dinner, and such. I knew my parents would not be happy about me freaking out on Allison. However she really brought it on her self, talking about wasting my parents money like that. I walked to the woods right next to my house, and found my favorite secret hiding spot. This is where I spent a lot of my time, mostly just singing. Now I sat down on the little chair, and closed my eyes. I sat like that for hours, just singing. Finally, after my throat was sore, and it was beginning to get dark, I stiffly got up and went into the house. Mom, ofcourse, was waiting.
"Clarise, I just got off the phone with Allison."
"Oh?"
"Yes and I heard about your little tantrum"
"So? She was lecturing me on wasting you’re money. All I did was eat a cookie for peet’s sake. Then she goes on and on about how I can’t do that, I’m going to be wasting your money. If you think I am wasting your money then I’ll stop, I don’t need voice lessons anywho. She doesn’t have the right to tell what I can and cannot eat though. I’m 17, I want to have my own life! Why can’t I just get my own agent or something, and get my own vocal teacher…"
"Clare, Clare! Slow down. I understand you’re point. However, you know Allison is a friend of the family, and she’s a very good teacher. We wouldn’t hurt her by going to someone else. It’s not like you’re not getting a lot out of her. When you have money to pay for an agent, and a new teacher, then you can get one. For now though, we continue with Allison. Sound fair?"
"No mom, you aren’t listing. I want to have my own life, to do stuff fun for a change. I’m tired of always being tied down with singing. Singing is my safe haven, but lately it’s becoming the one place I don’t want to go to anymore."
"Do you want to quit then?"
"No, well yes. I don’t want to quit singing, but I dont want to take voice lessons anymore. Well, atleast for now. I want to take a break from them, and concentrate on other things."
"Like school? I saw you’re grades today."
"Oh mom, you know I barely have time to study."
"Then if we stop the lessons, I expect you to pull that english grade up, to atleast a B."
"Fine, but I’m not going to stop singing."
"You can break the news to Allison then, after that get a drink of water to help your throat, and go upstairs and study. Understood?"
"Yes, mother."

If I learned anything as I child, that would be never try and mess with Mother when she’s using that straight forward tone of voice. I grabbed a water from the fridge and guzzled it down. Then I snatched my cell from my purse and ran upstairs. I dialed Allison’s number and held my breath.

"Hey this is Allison from The Princtrott School of Music. I’m not here at the moment, but please leave your name, number, and a message and I’ll be sure to get back to you as soon as I check my phone. Thanks again!" Her voice sang out on the recording.

"Uh Ally? Yeah, it’s me, Clarise. Uhm, My mother and I just had a long conversation about my future and we both think it’s best if I just take a break from singing lessons for a little while. I really need to work on my grades, as well as having a normal teenage life. Oh, and yeah, I’m sorry for flipping out at you over there at the studio. But I kinda think you had it coming. Anyways, I hope we’re still okay after this, and I’m sure I’ll see you around. I’ll contact you, if I want to start up the lessons again. Okay, later." I snapped my phone shut. I slid onto my bed and sighed. I am finally free to have a life. Just then Kriss

There’s a little too much dialogue, but otherwise I like it and would like to read more.
