Do we, the people, matter at all?
I’m Palestinian, parents having immigrated to America in the late ’80s. They often talk of a time that their grandparents spoke of, passed on to the older generation from an impossibly older one, and so on for a long, long time. They spoke of the Israelis, the British, the Western Imperialism which sought to crush them after cultural decline, decay, and decimation from the Ottoman Turks and most of Western Europe after World War I. They spoke of the rule of the Mongols, the Fatimids, the Abbasids, the Umayyads, and the Rashidun before them. They spoke of Byzantine Roman rule, Roman rule, Hellenistic rule, and Persian rule. They told me about "Iraqi’s of the hills" or the Assyrians and "Iraqis of Babel," or the Babylonians. They spoke of the Egyptians during the Middle Kingdom and their subsequent conquering of Canaan. Finally, they spoke of the Israelites, fleeing prejudice and malcontent in yet another land, coming into their homeland in friendly and unfriendly context. They began to mingle, slowly, some converted, others remained loyal, "ignorant pagans."

I asked them, "What came before this?"
They told me, "Nobody knows, habibi, for that was when the whole world was forgotten by God."

It appears to me we are in yet another period of time when God has "forgotten" us, or rather, human beings have forgotten any societally moral or innately moral characteristics at all. Between the Young Turks, Nazism, Stalinism, Leninism, Maoism, Communism, Socialism, Zionism, Pan-Arabism, and everything else, I can hardly remember a time when I actually cared about any of the family members I have there (or had). God has forgotten which people were chosen for which land, which group of hardly moral individuals is right in hurting the other, and which one will finally inherit the Earth. We have forgotten where to draw the line as the old divide of "good guys" and "bad guys" gains frightening new dimensions that impossibly blur any sort of distinctive features whatsoever.

What I want to know is what happens to us, the people involved in these situations, after our leaders have killed each other vainly, wishing for this empire or that empire? What happens to the engine of the nation, the energy of the people, once we are unguided? Where are the modern prophets, and how can they lead us out of this increasingly dark and deadly desert of God-deprived desolate destruction?

The world was NEVER "forgotten by God"!

The truth is that Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! :D

You need salvation for yourself. After that, then you can let the Lord use you to help others!

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in Jesus for salvation, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus alone for salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what!

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus alone to save you! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die! :D

God never forgets the people he had made and knew before they were born. We all have hard times, this is God making us stronger. The people are more the ones who forgot God.

could you star mine please

The answer is simple. "God" does not exist. If you are unwilling to contemplate this point, then I cannot offer anything further.

God is not real. In any religion or any form. Most human suffering is needless, pointless and cruel. People live and people die, just as every other living thing on this planet has done. The only difference is we know we will die and have fear of it. That is not opinion, our brain’s are hardwired that way.
Its sad. The best you can do it not be cruel, enjoy yourself the best you can and eat good food.

You’re lying.

You’re not very good at it.

Also, your god is imaginary.

ADDED: You people can take your "thumbs down" and stick ‘em right straight up your @sses!

How does that grab you?

"Do we, the people, matter at all?"

How much we matter depends on who you ask.

Picture a camera on a satellite zooming in on you. The closer the zoom the more you matter.

Close up, individuals matter a lot to their families and close friends.

Draw the camera out a little, and we matter significantly to our communities, groups, less close friends, but not as much as before.

Farther out, we matter somewhat to our state, territory, city or province. We make a good news story when something happens to us.

Farther out, we’re just a news story if something really bad happens to us.

Farther out and we’re just a statistic.

I know folks take offense to the insinuation that people don’t matter, but sorry, it’s simple truth.

Fear not, God is here and so are you, God knows all and so do you, for you are a part of the whole. Nothing exist unless God wants it too, you cannot remember love without experiencing fear, this is reality, one cannot exist without the other, duality, left needs right, up needs down, pain needs pleasure, male needs female, you get the picture. Forget about right and wrong and fear not the world, is it to much for God to handle? live your life in love, use your powerful God given freewill to choose the things that make you feel good. All action has a reaction, God does not need to judge or command, to command is to take away freewill. All is God, all is a davine plan and all is heaven, hell is only a choice.

The answer lies in the rejection of ideology and theology and the acceptance of a common logic for the good of all. Ants have it and because they do they will survive as long as the planet remains intact. We humans, with our noble intellect and aspirations love to view ourselves as the preeminent of all living creatures. We even invent gods who tell us as much. But are we, or are we the dumbest of all earth’s creatures, dumber than the cockroach or the spider? Are we more foolish than the rats who possess a survival intelligence that man could only hope to emulate? Will mankind ever learn to sublimate its yearning for individuality enough to survive as a species? I doubt it, and instead long after we are all mere dust, the ants, cockroaches, spiders and rats will be laughing at the pitiful humans and their asinine gods who used to be but are no more.
