Psychological Tactic/Strategy - The Blinking Game?
I have a question about a game psychiatrist use with their patients. This game is featured in the movie "Sybil" and "Equus". The psychiatrist has the patient staring in one place and the psychiatrist will make a tapping noise. At the first tap, the patient closes their eyes. The next tap opens them, and does this in a even pattern. The psychiatrist asks them if they feel like sleeping. Then the patient is in a trance and the psychiatrist seems to be able to ask them to do or answer to anything until the psychiatrist tells them to wake up.
Is this really used by psychiatrists?
Are there other games like this?
I would just like to read more about this game and others like it. If anyone could answer my questions or direct me to a website about it I would be happy.

I'm note sure how it actually works, but apparently it does. It is primarily used to treat patients with PTSD, replacing bad emotions with more appropriate ones.
Its not the same a hypnotism and a psychologist would not really be able to tell their patient what to do or say.

IMDB rating: 6.60 Plot: Cody, a boy from Mugwomp Flats responds to a distress call about a trapped giant Golden Eagle called Marahute. Freeing her, he gains a close friendship with the bird. However, Cody is soon abducted by the murderous poacher, Percival McLeach, who is after that bird which is of a highly endangered species and therefore an extremely profitable quarry. In a panic, a mouse Cody freed from one of McLeach's traps sends a desperate call for help to the Rescue Aid Society in New York City who assigns their top agents, Miss Bianca and Bernard to the task. With transportation provided by the goofy Albatross, Wilbur, the agents arrive in Austrailia and link up with the RAS' local field operative, Jake The Kangaroo Rat.
