IMDB rating: 6.30 Plot: International con artist/thief Laure Ash helps pull off a diamond robbery in Cannes during the annual film festival. She double-crosses her partners-in-crime and makes off with the diamonds to Paris where she accidently assumes the identy of a distraught woman who commits suicide and then leaves the country. Seven years later, Laure (now called Lily Watts) re-surfaces as the wife of the new American ambassador to France where a certain Nicolas Barto, a Spanish photographer, takes her picture which sets the stage for a motion of events as the evil Laure resorts to low, underhanded means to protect her former identity by emotionally and financially destroying Nicolas while evading her former partners-in-crime still looking for her to reclaim the stolen diamonds. |

I love my mom, but she drives me crazy. How can I nicely tell her to stop?
I'm 19 years old and my mom still talks to me like I'm 7 (baby talk, playfully acting stupid) it may have been "our thing" 12 years ago, but she can't seem to get the hint that I've grown out of it. She also feels like she needs to sing obnoxiously loud all day from dawn to dusk. She doesn't sing badly, but she sings ALL THE TIME and I'm starting to loath waking up to her singing every morning. One more thing: she has a very delicate self esteem and is emotionally unstable. Meaning if I wound her pride even a little bit, she goes all psycho depressed on me and doesn't speak to me for a couple weeks. She also complains that I don't tell her anything or have opinions on anything...so I'm kinda in a 'damned if I do and damned if I don't' situation. I've tried telling her my opinions on her singing / behavior before, but every time it has ended badly. Any advice on how to deal with psycho people that you have to live with?
Enjoy the playfulness your mom has to offer. There will come a day you will miss her a lot and wish you were nice to her. She loves you a lot and you love her too. She's the only mom you have. If you talk like an adult to her, she will come around. Not right away, but just keep speaking like an adult. She really sounds like a lot of fun, just maybe overdoes it. Now that you know she is delicate, be careful not to hurt her. Really, you don't have each other forever. So, cherish every moment you have and just let yourself enjoy whatever she gives you.

You just have to not let it affect you. You know that she is like that so you know what to expect - just buy something to put in your ears so that you don't have to listen to her singing and at the same time you don't have to tell her to stop, she can keep singing cause you wont hear her. About the baby talk, just let her treat you like that. It is better than being treated like rubbish if she gets all depressed because of something you say. Let her be happy - one day you'll move out and you'll miss her..

I can relate to you and from experience you don't want to tell her straight up that you think shes annoying. Sit down with her and play this made up game called 'Days and Diamonds' where you list things you always do and give up one of those things for the week or weekend or what ever.
