Brother Bear 2
|
IMDB rating: 6.00 Plot: The bonds of true friendship and love are powerful enough to persist through even the most extreme circumstances, but can even the strongest bond endure when a young man and a young woman are split apart by the spirits? Since being turned into a bear as punishment for his insensitivity in Brother Bear, Kenai has managed to find true happiness and a compelling sense of purpose in his new relationship with his adopted brother Koda. But when Kenai's old friend Nita prepares for her wedding day with another man, the spirits send a sign indicating that a strong connection still exists between Kenai and Nita. The tribe Shaman suggests that the two join forces in a ritual to sever the bond between them and Nita, newly endowed with the ability to communicate with animals, seeks out Kenai in the woods. Even as the two friends resolutely journey to break the connection between them, the inescapable bond between them strengthens and threatens to disrupt not only Nita's upcoming marriage, but the special relationship between Kenai and Koda. In the end, destiny may require that each of the three choose between his or her happiness and the happiness of the other two. Like its predecessor Brother Bear, Brother Bear 2 features lush animation; a nice blend of action, suspense, and comedy; and a powerful message. (Ages 3 - 12) |

Would this have really happened?
This is a longish story but bear with me...
My friend told me today that in November 2009 her brother has been having money problems and 2 bailiffs were at her house waiting for her to get home from school. she got rid of them (some how) and then the next day the same thing happened but there was only one bailiff waiting outside her house and apparently this happened. She says he started asking for money and items from her house and then he began talking 'sleezy' to her. Then he saw her pet cat and grabbed it and said something like, "the only way you'll get her back is if you give me a blowjob". So, she said she did it and then he left or whatever. She told her mum and they got the police involved. she told me the police didn't take her seriously but it still went to court (?) and he is getting 9 months in prison. Not only do I doubt this story very much but the courts would not have moved that quickly, surely? what do you think...?
Why would a bailiff go to any ones house?

She sounds like she needs a good psychologist.
There is much more to this story than the story itself-she is screaming for attention.
Jo | Feb 01, 2010
The story is unlikely (especially the time frame) but not impossible.
It is *possible* that it could have moved that fast if the defendant took a plea bargain early on to avoid a trial.
I think you're right to *doubt* the story, but there's certainly no basis to categorically state it's a lie.

We are all sons of immigrants... aren't we?
"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
To me this represents what America is all about... A great nation, welcoming those willing pour blood, sweat and tears into a better future... For their families, for their community, for their country. I am the daughter of an Immigrant, and so is everyone... The weirdest thing people do is to assume that they are all from Mexico... My mother was born in Uruguay. She decided to come to America when she found out she was pregnant with me. She worked two jobs. She paid for EVERY THING I NEEDED. Paid for our hospital bills, our food, our rent, our heat. She always made donations to my school by buying extra pencils, notebooks, tools, books, the works, for me to bring to class and share with those who didn't have those things... She always donated clothes we didn't need instead of throwing them away. She always threw what little change she had into the collection basket at the door of our supermarket (the local church was always raising money for a different cause). She said that America was our home, and in our home most people spoke english, so she asked me to teach her little by little our home's language... but still remember her roots, and her spanish heritage. We never had food stamps, or welfare or Access cards... She taught me to be kind to people, and it would be returned to me... SHE WAS AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT THE WHOLE TIME SHE WAS HERE... 23 YEARS. I, as her daughter, could have made her legal, but she said that there was no need, because if we were good people and respected their laws, they wouldn't send her back... How naive, she was... A few years ago, an aneurysm she had in her aorta exploded. She barely survived the surgery. Illegal immigrants are not allowed to purchase insurance, and because she had no insurance, all the hospital had to do was stabilize her and send her home. I begged them to keep her, I didn't need to be a doctor to know she wouldn't survive at home... The doctor said "the rules are the rules"... She died a couple of days later... in the emergency room.
Do you think it's fare to put everyone in the same basket? Do you think all immigrants are evil? To all those "Americans" out there, who hate them because they say this is their country and no one else is allowed here but them, I would ask you to trace your ancestors and tell me you are not the son of an immigrant. You, me, we are able to call ourselves citizens of this great country THANKS TO MY MOM, YOUR GRANDFATHER, WE OWE IT TO THEM. Would you tell your forefathers they are not welcome here because they were born somewhere else? I don't think so... Yes, a lot of them are here illegally, but that's only because they are not given a chance to change that status. Don't you think it would be right to give these people the chance to earn the right to be here? Can't they come up with some kind of eligibility plan for those who have the same intentions as the ones who came through Ellis Island?
Welcome to America.. Now learn english, obey our laws, pay your share of taxes for your services recieved(welfare, police, health care) or get the f*** out of my country. Why should I or my kids have to learn a new language cause border jumping baby machines are invading my country? Sorry for your mother, she is an exception not the rule. many illegals here use our services while not paying taxes and taking opportunity away from us citizens, then these liberal communists who are toked out on pot use irrational argument of racism to retaliate against those who want to maintain a free country. While these illegals bring violence, drugs, and a lower standard of living here
I have no problem with those who lawfully come here for opportunity like my ancestors did, but those who eat away at our resources are vermin feasing away on our productions and need to be removed from our system, when you have a bad apple in the bushel, you do not rid change the whole bushel, you remove the bad apple, and thats how we solve our problems

sure if we can come up with a type of machine that we can use to scan people and read their intentions we can just let in the ones that are here with good intentions and keep out the illegal aliens that are estimated to have killed more americans last year than the wars in iraq and afghanistan combined from start til now. until that machine exists i supposed immigration control is a good idea.

We are all sons of immigrants... aren't we? Pretty much so, including the American indians.
But we are NOT all the sons of illegal aliens thank god. HUGE difference. Those people that blatantly disregard U.S. laws by illegal immigrating here I have no desire to learn nor do I care what their intentions are.
mammu | Feb 01, 2010
the native americans were very well established in this country, long before the pilgrims, spanish, or french even knew this place existed. now, we are populated by every country in the world. i happen to like open spaces, and fewer people. i don't have anything against anyone just because of race or where they came from, i just don't like the open borders, and i don't feel these terrorist orgs. should even be classed as human.

Apply, save, wait and meet all the criteria to come to America, welcome.
Crap on our laws and illegal immigrate, accept the consequences. This nation wasn't built on illegal immigration.
Open the borders and watch this nation die.....quickly.
Forest | Feb 01, 2010
10 to 20 million illegals in the United States. Videos of marching illegals threatening to "shut the country down" if they are held accountable for breaking our laws. Crowds of hispanics marching through American streets burning our flag, chanting anti-American sentiment, and demanding the rights, privileges and benefits of American citizens. International soccer games played in America where the home side is booed and the Mexican team is cheered. Billions of dollars in social costs for medical, educational, housing, criminal, and other areas associated with the huge influx of illegals. Special interest groups like La Raza that encourage and support defiance of immigration laws and applaud "reconquista". This is not immigration, it's invasion. This is not assimilation, it's an attempt to balkanize our country. Cinzano, Texas: Official language for the city government is Spanish. Sanctuary cities: Defy federal law and not allow law enforcement to apprehend those who entered our country illegally. When Alabama tried that federal troops were sent to make sure the law was enforced. This is what should happen to sanctuary cities. All federal aid to these cities should be stopped, as well. Your story does not reflect what is happening on a major scale to the United States. It's time for Mexico to take care of its own. We are not a "nanny" state for Mexico's problems.

US is first inhabited by the Indians before those expedition from britain came and conquer the land. Britains think high of themselves and that is how discrimination started... regarding your question.... the place has a huge track of land/.... you can always make a room for some more pips.. if you could look at it... US is bigger that europe I think.... and europe has a lot of counties in it.... plus if you would take a look in other countries... here we have more people than space were we can pitch our tents... so there you go... welcome the immigrants and be merry... by the way i am a great grand daughter of a spanish gentle man and my country is not spain... so there you go....
robelyn | Feb 02, 2010
Hey everybody who is against illegals. Why do you hate them so much? Aren't we all imigrants too? Our ancestors have travled here long ago. Why do you hate them. Listen, we take jobs right? But do you think that an American citzen will work in the most extreme places for 12 hours without break, in fear of getting deported and getting paid almost nothing? Think about it. Do we really need "papers" to live on this planet? If you believe that other countries are rich, you are wrong. People leave countries in order to have a better life. I know a friend that came from Peru. His family lived under the worst condtions ever. His father day and night worked. Still, the family barely lived. Here, they are happy. All the imigrants want is to have a good life and be successful, like everybody else. Do we really need laws to pick where people live? So, people, let's stop being ignorant and welcome these people. Huh?
Falmaata T | Feb 02, 2010
How long did it take you to write all of that?
Without spending an hour reading through your rant; NO, we are not all immigrants. If you were born here you are a native. By your twisted logic, even American Indians are immigrants because they migrated across the land bridge from Asia through Alaska.
If what you say is the case, then are Mexicans not natives of Mexico?
Kevin R | Feb 02, 2010
No,we shouldn't give them the chance to earn their right to be here. They had the chance to be here the legal way, they chose to break the law instead. They earn the right to be here by following the laws instead of sneaking across the border.
Jan | Feb 02, 2010
Not by a long shot.
My ancestors applied for and were accepted by this country. They did not DEMAND.. FORCE.. THUG their way into this country, and citizenship was granted to my ancestors.
And the illegal aliens have already told us what they think of our country. They had a multimillion man march and demanded their flag be respected, their language be made part of their culture, and that they be respected and given citizenship. No one allowed them to come.. and if you look at the envirnment, you discover it would be far, far better if they had not.
Finally, lots of people think it is great that they are making babies and growing our population. But if you give American Women free pre natatal care, free hospital care, and free post natal care, they will produce so many babies you will have to stand up to sleep.
Please... take the illegal aliens.. and go home.
Joel W | Feb 02, 2010
What if in the future the U.S.A. , Canada , and Mexico all become one country as some are predicting, what will we gripe about then ? I suggest worrying about the idea of a '' New World Order '' If that happens then we have alot more to worry about than illegal immigrants. The New world order is going on mostly unnoticed by the American public. C'mon people open your eye's...

Should we get back together?
Alright, here's the sitch (lol I've watched Kim Possible one too many times), I want went out with this boy from last year because he's so sweet. He gave me a Valentine's day present when he barely knew me last year, and he gave me a christmas present on christmas (so cute!) I stole his number from his friends (lol! im not a stalker) and we talked from 5pm to like 2am in the mourning! I told him that i never had a boyfriend and ive never kissed anyone. I WAS AND AM TELLING THE TRUTH!!! But then my friend told him i had a boyfriend, which was really this kid i used to and still hate and we constantly argue. The next day he broke up with me!! i don't know if it's my friend's fault but i don't even care if it is! i still like him, a lot! Sure he's an a$$, he's mean, he's ride, he belongs in jail, and other things, but im all those things too! plus he can be sweet, charming, CUTE, nice, sensitive, CUTE, adorable and CUTE! It's SO hard seeing him in the hallway and not crying, especially because of his reactions! He used to walk down the halls laughing all the time, and smiling even when nnothingsfunny, now when he smiles, it looks so forced and fake, matter of fact, today was the first time i saw him really smile, he was fighting with my best friend Tabitha (lol). He always looks down, so focused, confused, hurt, angry, sad, I can't stand it! I know he still has feelings for me, that even he cant deny cuz all my friends see it too! Today we accidentally bumped into eachother and my heart started beating all fast, felt so good, right, but at the same time it felt so hurt and crushed and like it was going break into a million little pieces in seconds! I'm going crazy!! if it s wat my friend said then he should have asked me and ill kill her (anyssa)! I, just.... i just need some advice....some kind of, help......or else.......well....who knows?
Sounds to me like the choice isn't in your hands. You are young, it is apparent because of the situation at hand, and he may take you back. However remember this. I am sure he wasn't your first boyfriend, and he definitely won't be your last. If he wants to think you lied to him, let him think that. You is not your job to fight his insecurities for him. That is for him to determine on his own time.
"The One" is still a long way away for the both of you. Date other people, have fun, and don't get too serious. Learn the true aspects of dating, what love means, and how to deal with it instead of trying to find "Mr. Perfect" in grade school. It's just not going to happen.
TheUndisputed | Jan 16, 2009
I say you should try to get him back...most likely he broke up with you because of what your friend said so get back on his good side...if you dont, then you'll be thinking this nonstop and then you cant concentrate on normal things [past experience]

What is the name of this instrument in "The Three Caballeros?"?
I was watching the Disney flick "The Three Caballeros." During the song Os Quindins de Ya Ya, a (goofy looking toothy) guy starts playing an instrument that appears to be clenched between his teeth. It looks like some variant of a jaw harp but isn't harmonic, just percussive. It's also way longer than any jaw harp I've ever seen, it looks like a stick. I found something close called a "Clackamore" but it wasn't around then and isn't made anymore. It can be seen in this video on youtube at 2:56 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8VC0Aaab jQ
What is the name of that instrument?
Somebody from the music section could help you with that.

Christians: How can you believe in a religion that is jam packed with...?
Read and answer please....
Noah's ark... in the bible it says he took 2 of every dirty animal on board and 7 of every clean animal. If that is true that makes approximately 5 million animals. Elephants are huge, so are hippos and all kinds of other animals, some are tiny, like rats and cats. so... the average size would be that of about a cubic meter.
Noah would need to build a 5 million cubic meter boat to house them. Thats about 13.000 times bigger than the titanic. It took 3 years to build with over 2000 people envolved in its construction, just to run the titanic took 907 people.
If Noah could build 5 meters worth of ark each day that would be a million days work, or 2739 years.
If it took Noah 30 minutes to collect each animal (as he needs to allow for traveling the globe to collect different species) that would be 285 years more. By the time he collected the last one the first one would be dead from old age.
He then needs to collect food, thats tones and tones of grain and other kinds of food. Say it takes him 1 hour to collect enough food for one animal, thats about 500 years more work. As lions are carnivorous as are many other animals he would obviously need to brin on more than 5 million animals as he would need to feed some to others, he cant bring on raw meat as he has no refrigeration, and even if he did... he would still need space to keep it, so add on another half a million meters of ark or another 500 years or so work.
As he would have vegetarian animals on board and vegetables rot in days, he would need a giant bio-dome so that he could create different kinds of atmospheric climates to grow different kinds of indigenous fruits and greens.
To cut a long story short, noah would need to work about 5000 years upwards to get everything finished. This story obviously is total fiction and the ark would be so large that it would excede the curvature of the earth and become structurally unsound, the laws of physics clearly state that gravity would rip such a delicate yet large structure to pieces.
Then we come to the tower of babel, yet another logistical and structural impossibility. And even if it were possible it would surely leave some kinds of ruins. (specially since we have smaller and older ruins in Egypt)
My question is... how can you believe in a religion that is jam packed with what are obviously bare face lies and a total lack of understanding concerning basic science?
Low IQ, inability to rationalize, brainwashing, refusal to listen to the facts... the list goes on.

Duh! God helped them do all those things!
