Do you remember these guys? Jonathan Winters?
Dean Martin? Flip Wilson and Geraldine? I don’t remember flip and geraldine. The Smothered Brothers.
Do you remember that character that Carol Burnett played… Mrs. Whiggins? I swear that is my sis.
Tim Conway. I have laughed over him until I cried.
Harvey Corman. I loved Johnny Carson so much.
Did you see Johnny when Jay Silverheels was on the show. Mr. Silverheels was talking about his long years on The Lone Ranger. I laughed until I cried.
What I mean WHO was your favorite comedian or comediennes or comedians.
I liked Jonathan’s lines about the little green women all over his room. What were they looking for? Little
green men. He sang that song about " All day long
he painted his wagon. " Then there was the one
he sang about "Don’t ever, don’t ever….
Remember that horrible preacher the former
preacher? What was his name, Southern, turned
comedian, Ray Gardner? Remember that
Bill Cosby of long ago, when he was young?
What about Jose Jimenez? I was in nursing school.
I said I felt like him. He was on the Album of Jose Jimenez in Orbit. They asked him if he had passed the Russian Capsule yet. He said he had not even swallowed it.
I loved them all – you forgot to list Foster Brooks with Dean Martin..
They were all on the Dean Martin Roasts.
We have the set of Dean Martin Roasts on VHS.
So fun to watch.
Check them out on Youtube. All you have mentioned are also on Youtube.
Also check out – I Wish I Was Eighteen Again by George Burns.
He brings tears to my eyes when I hear him sing it.
Hey – what a fun question – brings back great memories.
Lovein’ it.

My Mom went on one date with Jonathan Winters.
They went to see "King Kong"and he got thrown out for acting like an ape, whilst throwing popcorn all around
My personal fave was Rodney Dangerfield.
The Smothers Brothers were really funny ,but very gentile.
Not old Rodney.

Here’s a bit of trivia.
Flip Wilson quit his show because "Geraldine" became more popular than Flip was. He was very angry over it.
NBC offered a show to him called "Geraldine". He wouldn’t do it.

I think that Red Skeleton was by far the best of all. He played so many different characters and always ended his shows with God Bless!

So much great comedic talent, wrapped up in all these comedians/comediennes. I loved watching all of these great funny people. The Carol Burnett Show was my all time favorite. She played each character to a T. I loved it when "Eunice, Ed, Mama, etc. played the board game, "Sorry." That skit was so funny. Tim Conway is from Ohio, where I lived for 58 yrs. The dentist skit, where Tim shot himself with the Novacaine, was hilarious. Poor Harvey Korman, he had a hard time keeping a straight face when doing a skit with Tim.

And where did they learn?
Abbot and Costello
The Marx brothers.
Laurel and Hardy
Dean and Martin for something more recent.

My favorite was Lenny Bruce or George Carlin.
I remember Jose Jiminez on the Ed Sullivan show.
Smothers Bros. were good.
I thought Godfrey Cambridge and Dick Gregory were better than Flip Wilson, they had a social justice theme to their humor.
